Hamburg Horizons Happenings

October 17th, 2008 by elemprin

I am getting started on this blogging thing, hoping it will post when I’m finished.

The Horizons Leadership effort is well underway here in Hamburg, as we’ve had two steering committee meetings so far, the study circles kick-off meeting and study circles having met for their third time.

Things seem to be happening very quickly. Our study circle is having some very good conversations, and of course, those conversations are staying with our group.

Poverty is an issue that has touched every life, in some way, big or small and an issue about which people have many opinions. Through our study circle, I am looking forward to hearing how poverty has touched others, hearing their opinions about poverty and then moving on to learning about what we can do as a community to reduce poverty.

I then look forward to returning to the large group and putting thoughts and ideas together from all of the study circles.

It is still not too late to become involved in a study circle. If interested in getting hooked up with a study circle, please contact me, Kenn Wathen, at the elementary school at 382-2017.

All for now.
